Black Water Tarot

Black-and-white ink images that were intentionally designed, tongue-in-cheek, as twisted and slightly nightmarish re-imaginings of the Waite-Smith images. Creator Noah Rogers credits his inspiration for the deck to family tales of a deck his mother supposedly owned (tucked away and hidden), deemed evil and horrific. Rogers decided to have a bit of fun with the idea, making his cards recognizable but unsettling. Originally released without a physical guidebook in 2020 (although the guide text was made available on the artist's website), the deck was reprinted with a small guidebook ca. 2025.
