An early entry into Lo Scarabo's "Horizons" series of experimental decks, the Disorder: Tarot of Innocence takes on a deeper, more philosophical mission than we can do justice to within the confines of our usual, brief descriptions. The images themselves are rendered in a clean and subtly dramatic black-and-white palette, and feature characters that appear to be imbued with a child-like innocence implied by the deck's title. Even discounting the deck's loftier aspirations, it serves equally well for more traditional tarot endeavors, with clear nods to the Waite-Smith (RWS) structure and symbols. In order to represent the idea of being true to their natures with nothing to hide, artist Diego Gabriele has rendered most of the characters with little-to-no clothing, using their nakedness to assure the viewer that they represent truths at a most fundamental of levels.
