Gears, goggles, and machinery make this deck technically steampunk... although the retro conceits of the cards are sometimes just background elements against which more traditional image renditions are set. The "art nouveau" aesthetic is practically non-existent -- but the illustrations remain appealing and even charming. Thin black borders encase the titleless cards; suits and court cards are identified by pictographs in the top and bottom borders.
