Artist Pamela Steele brings her view of tarot to this original deck with a strong fantasy flavor. While there is a lot that is familiar here, there is a lot of original touches, too; Steele has opted to include five court cards (Maiden, Page, Knight, Queen, King) for each of the four suits, and has added six Major Arcana cards, making 27 major arcana in all and 88 cards total. The oversize cards of the first edition (2006) measure 4 in. x 5.5 in (10 cm x 14 cm), while the second artist edition (2010) are somehwhat smaller, measuring 3-5/8: x 5-1/8" (9.3 cm x 13 cm). The deck was reissued for the mass market in 2023 by Red Feather (a.k.a. Schiffer Publishing) with different borders. Our samples shown here are from the first edition.
