The key symbolic elements of the Waite-Smith tarot are removed from their traditional tableaus and placed in a deconstructed assemblage that separates them from the cards' extraneous elements, putting the most important components front and center. Furthermore, each potpourri of images is set against a colored background that roughly captures the "mood" or "feel" of the card -- for example, "destructive" cards such as Death and the 10 of Swords are set against black backdrops, whereas "generative" cards such as The Magician and the Ace of Pentacles are set against vibrant dark green backgrounds. Because of its balanced blend of intuitive and analytical components, this is a good deck for those moving from beginner to intermediate level in their tarot studies.
