The symbols, rituals, practices, and spirituality of the early Bronze-Age Minoan civilization form the basis of this deck/book set. The major arcana uses the Marseille ordering for Justice and Strength, and employs some title changes ("The Adept" rather than "Hierophant", for example). The minor arcana suits are renamed for cult symbols of ancient Crete, and line up with the elemental attributions as follows: Daggers = Fire, Rhytons = Water, Labryses = Air, Horns = Earth. For each suit, there are six court cards rather than four, named as follows: Youth, Maiden, Lord, Lady, Priest, Priestess.
