Dan thinks this is a dreadful book, but Jeannette thinks it's one of the best on Qabalah... and Jeannette does the ordering. Granted, the reader needs to take the author's cultural and temporal context into account when reading the text -- it was originally written and published in the 1930s -- but if you can get past the parts where certain ideas are only hinted at and keep in mind that science and sociology have 70+ years of advancement, there's a great deal of depth and insight to be gained here. And in general, the tone is more ego-free than most texts published on the subject of Western Qabalah. Dan however says, “It’s the dogmatic approach of ‘Western’ Qabalah that creates issues.” Perhaps some take DF's book too seriously.
