A loving tribute to opera in tarot form, the Opera Tarot features dramas, characters, and notable performers aligned with each card's meaning (mostly per the Waite-Smith system). Linda Sutton's paintings are as dramatic as the productions they represent, with characters expressing the range of emotions crafted by the composers and artists who have brought them to the stage. The card titles, suits, and names are strewn fluidly across the images, with the other elements overlapping and melding in an almost collage-like fashion. The cards are edged in gilt rose gold, with the card backs also featuring rose gold foil stamping. The set includes two copies of the softcover guidebook -- one in English, and one in Italian. The deck includes two variants of the 3 and 7 of Swords cards.
