Reproduction of an actual Besançon Tarot owned by artist Patrick Valenza. According to Valenza, he did not attempt to modify the original images, save making necessary adjustments to make the original imagery compatible with modern printing techniques. As is standard for the Besançon pattern, the High Priestess and Hierophant cards are replaced with the Roman deities Juno and Jupiter. Per Valenza's website: "The original deck was created c.1850 via woodblock printing and likely colored by unskilled local artisans or even children."
