Pieced together from steel and wood engravings of the Victorian era, the Victoria Regina Tarot celebrates the era with scenes and costumes of the period. The court cards depict historical figures, such as Oscar Wilde as the Prince of Wands and William Gladstone as the King of Swords. The suits themselves retain their traditional suit titles, but are represented on the cards by objects pertinent to the time: Wands are pens, Cups are mason jars, Swords are guns, and Pentacles (Coins) are pocket watches.
