Simple symbols -- many iconically recognizable, such as the Eye of Horus on the Temperance card -- are set against celestial backgrounds in this somewhat minimalistic deck. The backgrounds of the cards are alternately white with a crescent moon and black with a starscape. A few of the symbolic choices seem rather odd, such as the use of the Marseille charioteer (upright) to represent The Hanged Man. The deck was originally released in a majors-only edition, and later expanded to a 78-card edition with gilt gold edging. NOTE: Our sample scans are from the majors-only edition.
