Sepia Stains Tarot

Arising from a work of fiction that the artist had been crafting, the Sepia Stains Tarot "was originally conjured through and became a tangible entity because the writer of the story... wanted to hold her fictional tarot in her own hands." By the artist's own admission, the imagery doesn't truly follow any sort of standard tarot iconography -- opting instead to present us with a series of retro, often Victorian-style characters that represent the majors. The court cards begin rather abstractly for the Pages and Knights, and become more human as we reach the Kings and Queens. The pip cards are non-scenic, although the style of the pip images within each suit vary from card to card, representing artifacts that appear in the source material.
