Tarot Swietlistej Drogi

Dramatic, unique Polish deck that provides some surprisingly deep symbols and ideas. The dominant black backgrounds may give the impression that this is a "dark" deck, but in truth, the uplifting elements are anything but dark. We're told by one native speaker that the title of this deck/book set can be translated into English as "The Radiant Path Tarot." The illustrations feel a little like they were created using the method demonstrated as an exercise in art class: a colored background is covered over with black crayon, then parts of the upper layer are scraped away to create the illustration, revealing the colorful hues underneath. If that isn't an excellent metaphor for the best that tarot has to offer, we don't know what is.
