The Amado 777 Tarot was created by Amado Crowley, an occultist who claims to be the son of the infamous Aleister Crowley. The cards were released in two sets: the "alpha pack" consists of a standardly-structured 78-card tarot deck, albeit with modified titles on many cards, while the "beta pack" includes 33 cards made up of five additional majors (titled "Zany", "Question", "Starman", "Magus", and "Lookout") and two additional minor arcana suits of 14 cards each, designated "Crowns" and "Acorns". The artwork is colorful, with thick lines and dramatic shading. The court cards are designated "Squire", "Jack", "Queen", and "King". The images combine traditional and contemporary elements. Originally published with a small, 20-page booklet, the author later expanded the text to a 200-page guide made available separately.
