Student of "the Blessed Mary" Hettienne Grobler created a series of altars to represent the 78 stations of tarot, then photographed them to create this unique deck of oversize cards with black gilt edging. The deck pairs with her Mysteries of the Red Madonna Mary Magdalene deck to express a spiritual aesthetic that has long been overlooked, and even historically repressed. The entire major arcana has been re-titled to reflect the many aspects of ancient goddess worship. The minor arcana suits are renamed Holy Trees (=Wands/Fire), Holy Wells (=Cups/Water), Black Veil (=Swords/Air), and Living Stone (=Pentacles/Earth). The court cards are titled Virgin (=Page/Princess), Bride (=Knight/Prince), Mother (=Queen), and Sacred Hag (=King). There are two versions of trump #6: "The Beloved" and "Holy Mother and Child". Originally published in 2021, a second edition with a number of alterations was released in 2024, including matte instead of laminate finish and slightly larger cards for the later version. Our scans are from the 2024 printing.
