One of a pair of "timeframe" decks (along with the Before Tarot) by Lo Scarabeo, the After Tarot posits how each image of the Waite-Smith deck might appear a few moments after the original scene as rendered by Pamela Colman Smith. The general objective is to project each card's meaning into the future -- a goal that is, by definition, integral to much of tarot reading, yet typically left largely to the imagination. The creators are to be lauded for their subtlety; in some cases, one may need to look very carefully to pick out the variations between Smith's original and Alligo, Kenner, and Massaglia's transformed version. But the exercise is worth the effort. Furthermore, Massaglia does a superb job of capturing Smith's "theatrical sketch" art style, making this deck eminently usable in conjunction with a standard RWS deck.
