While The Herbcrafter's Tarot is not the first tarot to work with aligning herbal properties with tarot, it certainly is among the worthier efforts. Created by folk herbalist Latisha Guthrie, and delicately rendered by artist Joanna Powell Colbert (creator of the Gaian Tarot), the correspondences are both well-considered and useful. The minor arcana suits are replaced by the elemental correspondences -- Fire, Water, Air, and Earth -- and the court cards take on Spanish monikers of Hija (page/princess), Adelita (knight/prince), Madre (queen), and Curandera (king).
